CG Industrial Specialties Ltd (CGIS) was founded in 1980 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada as a family based, owner-operated enterprise. The original business model had CGIS supplying manual valves, filters and gaskets to the Pulp and Paper industry. As new product lines were added we were able to expand our sales to include more complex and demanding process and on-off automation applications. This in turn gave us the opportunity to develop our expertise in the Mining, Smelting, Refining, Petrochemical, Oil and Gas and Manufacturing industries.

Through the years we have continued to enhance our product offering by representing some of the best valve manufacturers in the world. Simultaneously, we have been persistent in our pursuit of knowledge of our customer's applications, process, metallurgy, and most importantly, understanding the requirements of severe service applications. Our tangible and intangible products have developed to such an extent that we are comfortable being your valve expert of choice.

In recent years, CGIS has been invited to explore new business avenues that demonstrate our proficiency in (isolation) valves. We have been hired by EPCs and major end users to advise them on their valve requirements, ultimately to bring down their cost of ownership while increasing performance. By analysing existing installations, CGIS is able to deliver the highest valve performance to our customers. Our consultative services have made us the supplier of choice for a large smelting corporation in B.C.

On mainly exclusive territory arrangements, CGIS represents leading manufacturers of valves, piping and sealing products, and environmental spill equipment. In addition, we offer a complete range of manual and automated valves backed by our in-house assembly and test facilities, including service and repair.

Our business is growing and our three warehouses (Vancouver, Prince George and Edmonton) are stocked to support our growing customer base in Western Canada. We have also reached customers in Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, Columbia, Holland, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Thailand, USA and Venezuela.
